"Natural" Baby Wipes Contaminated: Health Canada

Health Canada is warning parents that an American "all natural" baby wipe liquid is contaminated with Micrococcus bacteria.

Northern Essence Foaming Baby Wipes Solution is manufactured in the U.S. state of Georgia, and is available for purchase online and in some Canadian stores.

According to a release from Health Canada, the agency discovered that the product was contaminated during routine testing.

Micrococcus bacteria can cause urinary tract infections and skin infections, or result in more serious health problems for people with weakened immune systems.

Although Health Canada has yet to receive any complaints about the product, the agency is working with Border Services to prevent future importation.
